Position Quality Manager - Cambridge

Education
  • Engineering Degree OR highly technical training equal to a 4 year program (CQE)
  • 5 years+ of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with formal documentation systems and methods, particularly ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS 9100D
  • Experience with automotive parts production industry an asset
  • Experience with metal parts production an asset
  • Experience developing teams and with continuous improvement methodologies
  • Computer literate
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance activities within the manufacturing operation
  • From a quality standpoint, ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and internal requirements
  • Oversee quality systems, drive continuous improvement, manage corrective and preventive actions and support production through effective quality planning, inspection, and problem resolution
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Partner cross-functionality with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to achieve operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and cost-effective quality performance
  • Set, direct & support priorities of the Quality team and work to develop accountabilities for each team member
  • Review / re-set objectives in conjunction with on-time performance evaluations
  • Develop, implement and improve departmental metrics
  • Develop a continuous learning process for all staff (proper measurement techniques, identifications fit / function – critical characteristics, standardization of acceptance criteria)
  • Drive continual improvement process within the Quality department
  • Ensure NCRs (Nonconformance Reporting), inspection, SPC, Gauge Maintenance, Cost of Quality, internal audits, etc. are accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Lead / support problem resolution and responsiveness of all customer quality related issues
  • Customer liaison
  • Attend supplier conferences
  • Review all 8D reports and corrective actions implemented
  • Actively participate in APQP, FMEA and quote review meetings
  • Ensure Division maintains all Quality related certifications
  • Improve and maintain accurate Quality procedures and manuals
