Duties / Responsibilities
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead our safety initiatives within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and oversee safety policies to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. This role requires strong leadership skills, experience in manufacturing safety standards, and a commitment to continuous safety improvement. The Health & Safety Manager will play a critical role in training staff and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have worked in heavy manufacturing environments, in both union and non-union shops. Oakville & Hamilton Facilities Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies tailored to manufacturing operations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Design and deliver ongoing training programs focused on safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response. Collaborate with management and staff to promote a safety-first culture across all departments. Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance documentation. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting manufacturing safety standards. Requirements. Post secondary education in health and safety. Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of industry-specific safety protocols. Knowledge of pressure vessels, ASME codes, and the nuclear power industry is preferable. Demonstrated expertise in developing training & development programs related to health and safety. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence positive safety behaviors among diverse teams. Excellent communication skills for delivering effective training sessions and safety briefings. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental health standards, and risk management principles. Ability to conduct thorough investigations and analyze complex safety data. Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (such as CSP or OSHA certifications)
