Position Tool & Die Maker - Day / Aft. - London
Job Type Permanent
Education
  • Tool & Die Maker (C of Q) license
  • 5 yrs+ experience with tool & die in an industrial environment
  • Understanding of metrology
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering drawing / computer aided design
  • Good working knowledge of GD&T
  • Ability to communicate in written and spoken English
  • Good organizational skills, self starter and team player
  • Able to operate Toolroom equipment (lathe, grinding machine, milling machine, etc.) effectively and safely
  • Self-motivated, time conscious and attention to detail
  • Able to work with others and build positive employee relations
  • Able to interpret written reports, correspondence, instructions, procedures and guidelines
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines working with minimal supervision
  • Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, Excel an asset)
  • Able to work overtime if required
  • must be open to possible addition of night shift based on demands OR if summer heat dictates switch to day / night rotation
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Building and maintaining tools, dies and fixtures to support the production schedule
  • Maintain dies, jibs and fixtures at the level of quality required to support production stamping schedule
  • Fabricate dies, die sections, fixtures and any other required components within a specified time frame
  • Troubleshoot and repair dies and fixtures in the Tool Room as required to solve problems
  • Report all problems immediately that may affect the on-time completion of assigned work
  • Provide guidance and teaching to apprentices
  • Ensure all resources have their next coil staged prior to existing one running out
  • Ensure downtime waiting for material is at acceptable rate as established by the department
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain safety standards and cleanliness of work area as outlined by Supervisory staff
  • Be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for customers
  • Follow the duties and responsibilities specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations and housekeeping standards are followed
  • Report any known hazard, defect, incident or compliance issue to the Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Range $43/hr + shift prem. + benefits
