- At least 2 years of maintenance experience working in a production / manufacturing environment
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Any related education / certifications an asset (Millwright license, Mechanic license, Mechanical Engineering Technician Diploma, etc.
- Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic and pneumatic principles, automated equipment
- Strong mechanical and technical understanding
- Good troubleshooting skills and ability to deal with unexpected production floor changes / issues
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic electrical experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Good attendance record
- Working knowledge of MS Office, CMMS
- Experience using a CMMS or Project Management software an asset
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Able to adapt to various in-plant conditions (noise, temperature)
- Willing to wear PPE – Personal Protective Equipment (hairnet, ear plugs, safety glasses, safety boots/shoes)
- Be flexible to work other shifts if necessary (afternoon shift, night shift, weekend overtime)

| Duties / Responsibilities |
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, conveyor systems, and production machinery
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measurement and testing instruments
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment
- Work to improve machine efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve quality of product / processes
- Assemble and align gears, bearings and shafts
- Maintain effective equipment maintenance schedules and records on company equipment and tools
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Procure parts for necessary repairs and adjustments
- Management of parts inventory
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Oversee and act as a mentor to two mechanical team members
