Position Manufacturing Technician - Continental Rotation - Hamilton

Education
  • Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma OR trade license (Millwright, Tool & Die) OR other post-secondary education with relevant experience
  • Any training in CNC set-up / troubleshooting / programming an asset
  • 5 years+ of experience in a high speed automotive manufacturing environment preferred
  • Understanding of ISO/TS 16949 automotive systems and quality requirements
  • Familiarity with material handling robots (ABB, Motoman, Kuka)
  • Experience in CNC machining technical support / set-up (ideally with Fanuc, Okuma, Siemens CNC control systems)
Duties / Responsibilities
  • SHIFT: Continental Day / Night Rotation (2 weeks of Days / 2 weeks of Nights - 7 to 7)
  • Responsible for improving throughput of operations by assisting to optimize processes
  • Document changes to set points, programs, and parameters
  • Reduce downtime by executing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
  • Identify non-standard conditions and recommend resolution options to the Production Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Decrease expenses by ensuring the optimum utilization of resources such as tooling, labour, material and energy
  • Set-up, maintain, and troubleshoot fixtures and tooling for CNC lathes, Vertical Machining Centers, and grinding machines
  • Set-up, maintain, and troubleshoot special purpose machinery including induction heat treat cells, CNC grinders, deburr machines, and washing equipment, automated non-destructive testing cells
  • Troubleshoot automation including robotics such as Motoman, Kuka, and Fanuc handling robots
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment in order to minimize machine downtime

Pay Range up to $60K + shift prem. + paid overtime
