Education |
- High School education and good technical knowledge and math skills
- Ontario Machinist license an asset but not required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machine shop environment with experience in various CNC processes and setting up new jobs
- Experience with CAD/CAM an asset
- Any Autocad experience an asset
- Ability to use measuring instruments (edge finder, micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, thread gauges, surface tester, etc.)
- Knowledge of drilling, rotary transfer, and mills or lathes
- Experience with tool changes, set-up, programming

Duties / Responsibilities |
- Provide support to the technical team members, supervisors, and operators
- Support entry of new jobs into production (could include support of process planning, tooling, fixture design and build, programming / set-up, etc.)
- Work with Supervisor to schedule jobs to determine quick turnarounds for customers (read blueprints, process sheets, and/or sketches of part to determine final product, review specs to determine set-up procedure, machining sequence and dimensions of finished product, make program adjustments as needed on CNCs)
- Ensure effective production of quality parts by checking drawings, using gauges and other measuring equipment
