Duties / Responsibilities
    Reports to: Production Manager. Functional Relations: QA, Machine Tenders. Material Handlers and Maintenance. Purpose and Objectives: To maintain and improve the overall operating efficiency of the plant including machine fluctuations, reduction in machine down time and minimizing rejects. To maintain good communication with Production Floor to minimize misunderstandings which may result in loss of production. To work with Maintenance and Production to develop and implement solutions for significant manufacturing problems. Summary of Duties, Responsibilities, typical Activities and Assignments: The primary responsibility for the Process Technician is to maintain the smooth operation of the plant. This includes maintaining and monitoring all Blow and Injection Molding Machines and all auxiliary equipment including compressors, chillers, stretch wrappers etc. Assist Production and Maintenance Departments to analyze and understand the root cause of problems that impact on operating efficiencies and product quality. Participate in problem solving teams focused on manufacturing issues. Assist when requires in the areas of maintenance and process management. These activities could include trouble shooting machine problems or failure analysis. Work with production to analyze workflow and recommend improvement/automation where appropriate to improve safety, quality and efficiencies. Make entries into the shift tech log book to accurately record any maintenance done to equipment on the shop floor. Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor. Qualifications: High School or equivalent. 3 to 5 years experience preferably in the Plastics Molding Industry, Injection and blow. Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics.
