Position Director of Manufacturing - Etobicoke

Education
    • Technical degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) preferred ; will consider others depending on suitability of experience • 7 yrs+ of progressive management experience in a Lean / SMED / Six Sigma Manufacturing environment • Experience as a hands-on leader of production operations for a manufacturing facility at a Director or similar level • Experience in chemical and/or batch processing environment an asset • Experience with change management and implementation within a production environment • Dynamic leadership and employee engagement skills • Project management skills including solid capital expenditure experience (budgeting, budget management, etc.) • Proven presentation skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance and excellence in Customer Service, Quality, Delivery, Production, Environmental Health & Safety.
  • As part of the leadership team, the you will assist with establishing strategic direction and action plans for continued success and/or improvement of the manufacturing operation
  • Drive business strategy by linking department and individual performance plans
  • Develop and manage annual operating, overhead budgets, capital projects and execute action plans that drive efficiencies
  • Provide leadership to managers and team members who are motivated to achieve performance levels
  • Champion of Continuous Improvement, utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools
  • Drive production efficiency
  • Ensure inventory targets are met without compromising customer service levels
  • Participate in risk analysis and assessment and recommend mitigation action plans
  • Utilizing performance measurement systems, implement long term improvement processes and monitor for results
  • Participate in key decision making including sales and operations planning
  • Drive performance KPIs and adapt plans to meet targets
  • Schedule the workflow while adapting to levels of activity
  • Ensure adequate quality and service management systems are in place and recommend improvements aiming at improving customer satisfaction
  • Identify and oversee implementation projects/change management methodologies
  • Initial focus on manufacturing operations with gradual involvement in other operational areas (P&L, customer service, purchasing, etc.) over time

Pay Range up to $120K + bonus
