Position Plastics Project Engineer - Toronto
Job Type Permanent
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 10 years+ experience in an engineering role
  • Strong experience in plastics manufacturing (thermoforming and/or plastic extrusion of rigid plastics – rPET, PP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully execute capital projects
  • Engineering and/or Maintenance department leadership experience an asset
  • Ability to teach and build sustainable work processes / understanding of Mechanical and Electrical processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills
  • Able to create / foster productive relationships with various levels of staff
  • Able to work flexible hours if required in order to meet internal / external customer requirements
  • Able to travel to other plant locations and equipment suppliers as needed (not extensive)
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to plastics operations
  • Seek out and assess new technologies to meet corporate strategic goals
  • Execute resultant projects and communicate project / program status, work activities, and potential problems to relevant functional areas
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, meet project objectives
  • Coordinate and execute production equipment enhancements and upgrades for the purpose of cost reduction, reliability, and product quality
  • Provide engineering support for new product development
  • Assist in preparing Capital and Departmental Budgets
  • Support the company CI (Continuous Improvement) program
  • Ensure compliance with laws, standards and regulations in effect for buildings and equipment
  • Other duties as required

Pay Range up to $85K + bonus
