Education |
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
- 10 years+ experience in an engineering role
- Strong experience in plastics manufacturing (thermoforming and/or plastic extrusion of rigid plastics – rPET, PP, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to successfully execute capital projects
- Engineering and/or Maintenance department leadership experience an asset
- Ability to teach and build sustainable work processes / understanding of Mechanical and Electrical processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills
- Able to create / foster productive relationships with various levels of staff
- Able to work flexible hours if required in order to meet internal / external customer requirements
- Able to travel to other plant locations and equipment suppliers as needed (not extensive)

Duties / Responsibilities |
- Provide engineering support to plastics operations
- Seek out and assess new technologies to meet corporate strategic goals
- Execute resultant projects and communicate project / program status, work activities, and potential problems to relevant functional areas
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, meet project objectives
- Coordinate and execute production equipment enhancements and upgrades for the purpose of cost reduction, reliability, and product quality
- Provide engineering support for new product development
- Assist in preparing Capital and Departmental Budgets
- Support the company CI (Continuous Improvement) program
- Ensure compliance with laws, standards and regulations in effect for buildings and equipment
- Other duties as required
