Education
  • Post-secondary degree with a concentration in HR Management, Business or a related field; experience equivalent will be considered also
  • 7 years+ progressive work experience in Human Resources
  • 3 years+ experience as an HR Manager
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and law
  • Initiative, drive, demonstrated leadership and excellent communication skills
  • Results-oriented and able to work as part of a functional team
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Lead and influence the HR activities at a unionized manufacturing facility
  • Direct accountability for ensuring that the HR planning and results (Performance Management, Recruitment, Recognition, Training and Development, Engagement and Communication) are aligned to meet the Plant operational and business needs
  • Manage the Human Resources team and function to ensure that the key HR initiatives are aligned with the Plant operational strategy
  • Primary deliverables include tools and interventions in the areas of performance management, work environment practices, rewards and recognition, retention, leadership development compensation, employee development and advancement, diversify and employee satisfaction
  • Provide advice and guidance in all Labour Relations matters, including grievance / dispute resolution, interpretation and application of the CBA and all disciplinary matters
  • Ensure that Human Resources KPIs such as Attendance, Turnover, Retention are tracked and monitored
  • Facilitate execution of plant operations and corporate programs (i.e succession planning, orientation, PAD and DAP planning, etc.)
  • Prepare and administer the HR budget and ensuring effective control to ensure that spending is within budget
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives related to Human Resources
