- Certified Machinist or approved Apprenticeship with demonstrated machine shop expertise
- Strong machine shop expertise with lathes and milling machines
- Capable of reproducing replacement parts from existing parts and/or drawings / blueprints
- Able to read and produce mechanical drawings for components / parts when required and planning for best sequence of operations
- Knowledgeable of welding practices
- Good attendance and safety records

Duties / Responsibilities |
- DAYS: 7:00am to 3:30pm
- Produce replacement and new parts in making repairs of mechanical equipment
- Fabricate parts for experimental apparatus or prototype equipment working from drawings and/or written instructions
- Compute dimensions, tolerances, measure and lay out work pieces
- Perform tasks of substantial machining variety and/or complexity requiring in-depth knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, tools and shop equipment
- Fit & assemble machined parts & subassemblies using hand and power tools
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy & conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Complete job work orders with all pertinent repair information and store parts depletion data
- Maintain stores organization and identify parts shortages to Maintenance Manager
- Able to supply Purchasing with accurate information for part orders
- Project work as assigned
