Position Project / Account Manager - Hamilton

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred; other disciplines may be considered
  • 5 yrs+ experience in project management and customer liaison in industrial environments
  • 3 yrs+ experience with steel making, industrial ceramics, refractory installation or related industry an asset
  • Ability to develop and manage customer relationships at multiple levels of an organization from hourly to salaried to upper management
  • Good communication, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Ability to manage internal communications with commercial, technical and customer service teams
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and projects within a specified timeframe
  • Ability to acquire an understanding of customer’s product, production, quality, and logistics processes
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Manage all project work at customer site
  • First line of communication between external customer and internal company staff / support groups on all issues
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of staff personnel on site
  • Manage daily service activities such as: - Inventory Control - Product Usage forecast and delivery schedules - Obtaining and processing appropriate information for timely invoicing - Routine data collection - Preventative and emergency equipment maintenance - Co-ordination of customer’s personnel relative to installation and handling of material - Customer efficiency - Company profitability
  • Recognize and act on opportunities for continuous improvement in process performance
  • Work with technical support teams to implement appropriate emerging technologies
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports for internal and external publication
