Education |
- Degree OR Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or other technical degree/diploma preferred but will consider all
- 5 years+ of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must be familiar with an ISO Quality Management System and Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to supervise in a union setting and address employee conduct / performance areas for improvement
- Working knowledge of OHSA

Duties / Responsibilities |
- Responsible for managing the daily operation of all production lines and support functions in the Production area
- Direct all union hourly employees by using experience and knowledge of production methods, processes, equipment, safe practices and total quality to meet production demand and achieve continuous improvements
- Lead and implement various Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, OEE, Visual Management, Daily Meeting)
- Handle all employee problems, complaints or initial grievances
- Responsible for full communications to hourly workforce
- Responsible for overtime allocation and management
- Ensure adherence to Labour Contract provisions
- Responsible for allocation of manpower, training, attendance management, housekeeping, safe working practices and rule enforcement
- Ensure direct reports have sufficient training to perform job functions
- Maintain adequate shop supplies
