Position Assembler - Fitter

Education
    Skilled Trades Certification as Industrial Mechanic Millwright, Tool & Die Maker or Machine-Tool Builder
Duties / Responsibilities
    Duties
  • Assemble equipment as shown on assembly drawing and apply fitting know-how to any unclear or missing fine details
  • Insure all bolts and fittings are 100% secure
  • Fit customer parts to the tools, making shim and grinding adjustments to meet required print tolerances
  • Set up part detection sensors, set travel stops
  • Receive assembly drawing(s), bill of material, detail drawings supplied by plant manager or lead hand and review prior to assembly
  • Take inventory of all manufactured and purchased items related to project prior to starting assembly to plan assembly method
  • Work closely with PLC & Robot programmers, electricians & fluid power fitters to make mechanical modifications to the system, tooling & process
  • Safely use lift truck & overhead crane
  • Machining with conventional machine tools (Mill, Lathe, Grinder) as required
  • Document process details, SR&ED activities, mark-up drawings with changes
  • Install & commission systems at customer’s site Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Knowledge of weld inspection and tear-down procedures an asset
  • CWB Certification
  • Ability to jog robots (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, others)
  • MIG Welding experience
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license
