Position Production Supervisor - Night Shift - Etobicoke

Education
  • Post-Secondary education in manufacturing, business, or related technical experience in packaging or related business
  • 5 yrs+ leadership experience in a progressive manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a mid-size to large manufacturing environment with fast-paced made to order processes
  • Technical print industry experience preferred
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing processes, total quality, SPC, HACCP, SQF and cGMPs
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Straight Night Shift
  • Responsible to manage the production results for shift in the printing department, ensuring that cost, quality and customer service meets business expectations of internal and external customers
  • Manage and resolve personnel issues (Performance Improvement, Absenteeism Management, Manage Training Program and maintain Training Matrix, Ensure conformance to standards of conduct and good employee relations through communication and feedback)
  • Ensure that quality and scheduling requirements are met
  • Ensure productivity, labour budget targets for shift are met and exceeded
  • Manage vacation planning with respect to production needs, inventory levels, uptime metrics
  • Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvements to all key results area (i.e print quality, cost, reliability, flexible operations, safety housekeeping, increasing speed yields, etc.)
  • Work with peers to implement process changes and physical upgrades; ensure new systems are properly commissioned and validated and SOPs are development
  • Ensure Team Members are trained to support ongoing operations at high standards of quality, efficiency and flexibility (GMPs, Food Safety, Quality procedures, HACCP / SQF, 5S)
  • Aid in the development of performance metrics to help drive CI and implement change
